Swelling of the tongue is a sign of a possible allergic reaction.
One consideration is to try brewing the tea for a shorter period of time. Start with 30 seconds and see if you are able to drink the tea without experiencing nausea. It's fine to re-use this tea bag throughout the day. If you still feel unwell you have a few options, you can consider trying the Autophatea capsules, which can be better tolerated. You can also try making autophatea at home using this recipe.
To see if you are reacting to a particular ingredient, try making it without the cinnamon the first time, make it without the earl grey (green tea only the next time). It's a process of elimination.
If you do have any signs of difficulty breathing, swelling of your tongue or lips, hives, stomach cramps, vomiting or diarrhea, these are suggestive of a true allergy and in that case, please discontinue drinking the tea immediately and get medical support.
