Adapting to the Glow15 plan is a transition for most. With intermittent fasting, try working your way up to 16 hours gradually. Start with a 12-hour fast; once your body is comfortable with the 12-hour fast, increase to 14 hours and then increase to 16 hours when you feel ready. It can take up to a month for your body to become fat adapted, meaning your body goes from using sugar as its main fuel source to using fats for fuel. Once you become fat adapted it will be much easier to go for longer periods without eating.
Remember, during the hours you fast, it is ok to have AutophaTeaâ„¢ without any added fat, as well as black coffee before breaking your fast. Also you should definitely be drinking water during your fast. Please note also that the supplements recommended in the book should be taken with meals. So on High days you will take them three times a day and on low days you will take them twice a day. You can continue taking your other supplements at these times as well. If you have a supplement or medication that needs to be taken in the morning with food, please check with your doctor before starting this plan.
It is ok to modify the Glow15 plan for what works best for your body. Some people might do better with a slightly higher protein intake and that's ok. Focus on getting a lot of fiber-rich vegetables and healthy fats into your diet. With every meal add in two to three tablespoons of fat in addition to what you cook your food with.
And if you are hungry, it is fine to snack. Nuts, seeds and avocados make a wonderful high-fat snack. It is also encouraged to have a few cups of AutophaTeaâ„¢ daily, which can also help you to feel satiated. There is no need to check or count calories while on the Glow15 plan.
